The capital of New Mexico is Santa Fe.
If you count the Pueblo Villages, Santa Fe is one of the oldest settlements in North America (over 1,000 years). It is located on the Santa Fe River. Santa Fe's Spanish translation is holy faith.
Physical: 20 pop ups
Personal: Send my only living grandparent (granny) a card
Result: I wrote and mailed "Granny," Jackie Hayes, a thank you card. It told her what a wonderful person she was and how much she meant to me. I was blessed to have four wonderful grandparents growing up, but she is the only living one remaining. It was very emotional for me to have selected this challenge, this week, because she is back in the hospital. I pray she recovers. I love my Granny!!! I mailed the letter to her house, so my mom is going to take it to her in the hospital. I hope to hear from her soon. I'll keep you posted.

Week #21 5/20/12-5/27/12
The capital of Minnesota is St. Paul.
Most people might guess Minneapolis, but it's St. Paul. St. Paul is split from Minneapolis by the Mississippi River, thus they are known as the "twin cities."
Physical: 20 pop-ups
Personal: I have to watch the sunrise everyday.
Result: This was a card that made a difference when I drew it. If I would have drawn it in December, the sun would be coming up around 7, but since I drew it in May, the sun was coming up around 6. Anyways, I used this week to also get some early morning surfing in which we call "dawn patrolling." I got up at 5 every morning and was on the beach with my board by 5:45. There was some really good swell this week, from 2 tropical systems. There were some days where it was cloudy, but I was out there anyway. Overall, I found that it was a great way to start the day off.

Week #20 5/13/12-5/20/12
The capital of Kentucky is Frankfort.
My original guess would have been Lexington, but it's Frankfort. It is one of the smaller populated capitals in the U.S. (5th). It is located on the Kentucky River.
Physical: 15 sit ups

Personal: Get a professional massage
Result: On Thursday I went to I Am Day Spa and Salon. I got a "fusion" massage which was a combination of three different massage techniques. I paid $45 dollars for a 30 minute massage, but the masseuse gave me an hour. Maybe she just couldn't take her hands off me. It was great and totally relaxing. The room was dark with aroma therapy candles and the sounds of the calm ocean lapping at the shore was my selected soundtrack. I had some tension knots in my back and those are not fun being rubbed out. Other than that, the experience was great...pricey after tip, but great.

Week #19 5/6/12-5/13/12
The capital of West Virginia is Charleston
Charleston is the capital and largest city in West Virginia. Not to be confused with Charles Town, West Virginia.
Physical: 10 sit ups
Personal: Read an entire book
Result: I actually read two. I read the story behind the horse Funny Cide. Funny Cide won the 2003 Kentucky Derby and the Preakness. A student had given me the book years ago, so I decided to give it a go. It was really good. I read the "Diaries of Adam and Eve" in one setting. It was a humorous account by Mark Twain.
